Welcome from Head of School!

We are delighted that you are visiting our website and we invite you to reach out to us and learn first-hand about the wonderful advantages of a Woodward School education for your renee.pngdaughter.

Founded in 1894, Woodward educates talented and hardworking girls in Grades 6 through 12, in a college preparatory environment.  For the past 124 years, Woodward has provided a rigorous curriculum in an environment where our students are challenged to achieve their potential as scholars and citizens.

Our mission is to honor and cultivate each student’s academic and personal potential to enrich the world with courage and creativity.  In addition, we expect our students to make a lifelong commitment to using their gifts and talents for the benefit of others.  We are intentionally small – just as our Founders envisioned – and our low student teacher ratio enables us to prepare each girl uniquely well for college and for life in an environment where all of our students are known and loved.

Each Woodward girl experiences leadership opportunities as part of her daily life at Woodward.  At our core, we value generosity, integrity, responsibility, leadership and service.  We aspire for Woodward to be the best possible place for girls to learn and grow.

New to Woodward this year, I am energized by the commitment and dedication of faculty, staff, trustees and parents.  Students express this same level of dedication and pride in being a “Woodward Girl” in academics, in artistic pursuits, and on the playing field.  Woodward remains committed to inspiring girls to pursue their goals and to advocate for themselves with authentic and informed voices. In doing so, they develop skills to learn, lead and to be successful today, and for life.

I am honored to lead Woodward at this time.  Young women have never before had more opportunities to lead and I will support Woodward faculty and parents in partnership to advance and support every girl to reach her greatest potential, while loving what she is doing.

I am excited to meet you and share Woodward with you and hope that it is the right match for your daughter(s). Please be in touch directly by email at: rduchaineyfarkes@thewoodwardschool.org or via our dedicated admissions office by emailing or calling Carol Andrews, Director of Admissions, candrews@thewoodwardschool.org, or 617 773 5610.
